Combination Switch: Description and Operation






Steering Column Switch, To 10.09


Follow the procedure in the Repair Information when disconnecting and connecting the battery. The removal and installation of individual steering column switch components must be done in a specified sequence. Refer to => [ Steering Column Switch Components, Removal and Installation Sequence ] Steering Column Switch Components, Removal and Installation Sequence.

After installing a new Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module (J527) , it must be coded. Refer to => [ Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module (J527), To 10.09 ] Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module (J527), To 10.09.

If steering column switch malfunctions occur, the coding of the steering column electronics control module (J527) must be checked. Refer to => [ Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module (J527), To 10.09 ] Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module (J527), To 10.09.

DTC Recognition and Display

Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module is equipped with On Board Diagnostics (OBD) which assists troubleshooting.

For troubleshooting, use Vehicle Diagnostic, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051A) in operating mode "Guided Fault Finding".
