Shift Unit Overview
• Lubricate the bearing areas and sliding surfaces.
1 Nut
• Removing and installing, see => [ (Item 17) Nut, Self Locking ] Shift Mechanism Overviews.
2 Transmission Shift Lever
• Can be replaced with the shift mechanism still installed.
• Installed position, refer to => [ Selector Lever/Relay Lever, Installed Position ] Shift Mechanism Overviews.
• Installing, refer to => [ Transmission Shift Lever, Installing ] Shift Mechanism Overviews.
• Adjust the shift mechanism after installation. Refer to => [ Shift Mechanism, Adjusting ] Adjustments.
3 Sliding Shoe
• Clipped onto the relay lever.
4 Bushing
• Not needed with the plastic relay lever.
5 Relay Lever
• Installed position, refer to => [ Selector Lever/Relay Lever, Installed Position ] Shift Mechanism Overviews.
• Adjust the shift mechanism after installation. Refer to => [ Shift Mechanism, Adjusting ] Adjustments.
• Plastic as of 03.07. Refer to => [ Plastic Relay Lever ] Plastic Relay Lever.
6 Gear Shift Unit
• Consisting of the shift shaft and the shift cover.
• The components cannot be separated from each other.
• Can be removed and installed with the transmission installed.
• Shift shaft adapted together with the revised reverse gear selector fork => [ (Item 5) Reverse Gear Selector Fork ] Shift Forks.
• Allocation, shift shafts, refer to => [ Shift Shaft Allocation ].
7 Bushing
• For the shift shaft.
• Removing and installing, see => [ (Item 16) Bushing ] Transmission Housing.
8 O-ring
• Insert in the groove in the shift cover.
• Install using transmission fluid.
• Always replace.
9 Cap
• For the transmission ventilation.
10 Circlip
• For the relay lever.
• Not needed with the plastic relay lever.
11 Selector Shaft Seal
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Selector Shaft Seal ] Selector Shaft Seal.
