Troubleshooting

The radio is equipped with OBD.

To fault find, use "Guided Fault Finding" in the Vehicle Diagnosis Tester.

Use the chapter for the individual unit when removing and installing.

Removal

Do the following before starting the procedure:

- Remove any CDs still in the unit. Refer to the Owner's Manual.

- Turn off the ignition and all electric consumers and remove the key.

Now, perform the following work procedure:

- Carefully pry off the cover in the center console - arrows - with a (3409) and remove it.






- Remove bolts - arrows - on radio navigation system.






- Pull radio navigation system out of installation compartment far enough until harness connectors on rear side of radio navigation system are accessible.

- Press together the connector lock in direction of - arrows -.






- Then swing mounting bracket out in direction of - arrow - and disconnect harness connector.






- Disengage harness connectors - arrows - from antenna connections and disconnect them.






Installation

- Insert connectors to radio navigation system and engage them.

- Slide radio navigation system straight into instrument panel.

While sliding in the radio navigation unit, under no circumstances press on the display or control buttons since the radio navigation unit may be damaged by doing this.

- Attach the radio with the 4 bolts - arrows -.






- Reinstall cover for center console.

- Deactivate the anti-theft coding, if necessary.

- Check radio/navigation unit coding and code it again if necessary.
