CSC Roof, Installing
• Have at least two additional technicians help guide workshop crane (with attached roof) and insert roof in vehicle.
• One technician on workshop crane, one technician in main hinge area and at least one additional technician at roof pillar.
• When inserting roof, ensure it does not collide with adjacent components.
• All screws are microencapsulated and must always be replaced.
- Lower roof - arrow a - into vehicle until roof with roof pillar can be guided into locking bracket on windshield frame - arrow b -.
- Only lower rear of roof - arrow c - enough so that main hinge can be guided into mounting pins.
- Now install screws - 2 - on main hinge - 1 - but do not tighten.
- Guide Main Bearing Gauge (VAS 6371) with stops - 1 - between - arrow a - mounting pins - 2 -.
- Lower the main bearing gauge (VAS 6371) on the main hinge - 4 - and rotate the gauge pins - 3 - until they slide into mounting holes - arrow b -.
• Adjust the oil level in the oil reservoir so it is between the "min" and "max" markings. Do not adjust the oil level to the "max" marking.
- Tighten the screws - 2 - on the main hinge - 1 -.
Screw tightening torque: 20 Nm.
Install in reverse order of removal.
- Connect hydraulic lines.
- After connecting hydraulic lines, correct oil level so that it is between "min" and "max" markings.
- Connect all connectors that were disconnected.
- Connect the water drain hoses.
- To check electrical components, interrogate DTC memory with Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051B) and erase if necessary.
- Completely open and close roof once with convertible top operating switch.
- Perform a basic setting after installing roof. Refer to => [ Basic Setting for Newly Installed CSC Roof ] Basic Setting For Newly Installed CSC Roof
- Perform a function check on roof and windows only after basic setting. The side windows must be adjusted if necessary.
• The roof is closed.
- Check the oil level. Correct oil level so it is between "min" and "max" markings.
