Roof Pillar Latch, Installing

• All screws are microencapsulated and must always be replaced.

• Check the sealing rings on the centering point of the locking mechanism to make sure they are seated securely.






- Place front locking mechanism in lock fitting and pull mount - 1 - back so that locking mechanism is guided into lock fitting.

- Install nuts - 3 - on threads but do not tighten.

- Secure countersunk rivets - 2 - with Pop Rivet Pliers (VAS 5072).

- Insert the sliding block into the slotted guide rail and tighten the bolts from the inside. Tightening specification: 9.5 Nm.

- Tighten the screw - 5 -, tightening specification: 3 Nm.

- Install guide rail.

- Raise rear window frame over roof center section.

- Pull the mount - 1 - as far back as possible so the locking hooks in the lock fitting engage.

- Tighten the bypass bolt on the hydraulic pump.

- Close the rear window frame with the convertible top button.

- Tighten the nuts - 3 -, tightening specification: 9.5 Nm.

- Install roof pillar.

If the sealing ring on the centering point in the locking mechanism comes lose, bond it in place.

- Clean the surfaces on the sealing ring and the centering point with cleaner (D 195 850 A1).

- Coat the sealing ring with adhesive (AMV 195 KD1 01).
