Roof Pillar Latch, Removing


There is a hydraulic cylinder behind the rivets - 2 -. Before drilling out the rivets, loosen the slotted guide rail that pivots the roof pillars sideways, disengage the sliding block disengaged and remove the carrier - 1 -.






- Remove the roof pillar. Refer to => [ Roof Pillar, Removing ] Roof Pillar, Removing and guide rail => [ Guide Rails, Removing ] Guide Rails, Removing.

- Remove bolt - 5 - and both nuts - 3 -.

- Open the bypass screw on the hydraulic pump. Refer to => [ Hydraulic Pump Assembly Overview ] Hydraulic Pump Assembly Overview.

- Lower rear window frame and press nut mounts all the way back.

- Mark and then remove the guide rail bolts from the inside. Disengage sliding block from guide rail and pull carrier out slightly.

- Cover window recess in front of holes so no shavings can fall in.

- Drill out rivets - 2 -.

- Press mount forward so that locking mechanism loosens from lock fitting.

- Remove locking mechanism - 1 -.
