Roof Pillar Seal, Removing
• When the luggage compartment trim is installed, make sure the support is not positioned in the opening on the longitudinal member.
• To support roof, both sides of luggage compartment trim should be either removed or installed.
• The bypass screw on the hydraulic pump must be opened after the repair position has been reached on vehicle from May 2007. This prevents damaging the hydraulic system.
- Open the roof with the convertible top switch until it is just before the position shown.
- Place Hinge Supports (VAS 6365) in center position - 2 -.
- Place the hinge supports (VAS 6365) in the mounting hole in the main hinge - 1 - and rotate the base - 4 - so that it is not positioned in the opening in the longitudinal.
- Switch the ignition off. The roof lowers in stages until the supports are resting on the longitudinal member.
- Remove the seal - 1 - from the securing strip - 4 - starting at the front on the outside.
- Remove the inner seal from the roof pillar - 2 - staring in the middle.
- Remove front inner part of seal forward from roof pillar.
- Then pull the seal off the roof pillar toward the rear.
- Loosen the cable tie on the water drain hose.
- Remove the water drain hose.
