Drive Belt: Service and Repair






Ribbed Belt

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Connecting Pin (T10027)

Removing

- Remove the noise insulation.

- Disconnect ventilation line - 2 - (white) and remove the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister from the bracket.






- Mark running direction of ribbed V-belt before removing.

- Install a wrench - 1 - onto the belt tensioner bolt and turn in the direction of the - arrow - far enough until the (T10027) can be installed to the tensioner.






- Remove ribbed belt.

Installing

Before installing the ribbed belt, make sure that all ancillaries (generator, Air Conditioning (A/C) compressor, etc.) are secured tightly.

Check relay pulleys for ease of movement

Ribbed belt must not be kinked.

If reinstalling the old belt, note the previously marked direction of belt rotation and be sure that it is seated correctly on the pulleys.

- Install ribbed belt as shown.

- Install the wrench - 1 - onto the belt tensioner bolt and turn in the direction of the - arrow - far enough until the (T10027) can be removed from the tensioner.






When finished, always perform the following work:

- Start the engine and check the belt running.
