Condition

Door Mirror, Electric, Loose or Folding Function Incorrect
The following conditions may occur when operating outside rear view mirrors:

1. Door mirror is loose. It is not in locked position.

or





2. Both door mirrors cannot be adjusted correctly. One side cannot be adjusted at all, and other side may have delayed operation (as a result).

Technical Background

Electrical connector for adjusting motor is not correctly seated.

Production Solution

Continuous process monitoring, process optimization in assembly.

Service

1. Operate affected mirror adjustment once. Mirror is now resting in its slotted-in position.

2. Open housing of the door mirror which in inoperative, see Repair Manual Group 66 in ElsaWeb.





3. Ensure electrical connector for mirror adjustment is properly connected (figure 1).
