Rear Window Frame, Removing

To support roof, both sides of luggage compartment trim should be either removed or installed.

The bypass screw on the hydraulic pump must be opened after the repair position has been reached on vehicle from May 2007. This prevents damaging the hydraulic system.






- Open roof via convertible top operating switch until rear lid tips back.

- Open bypass screw on hydraulic pump.

- Place Hinge Supports (VAS 6365) in center position - 2 -.

- Secure Hinge Supports (VAS 6365) on rear window frame locking mechanism - 1 -.

- Lower rear window frame until supports - 4 - are positioned on longitudinal member - 5 -.

Do not loosen the rivets - 8 -. Only loosen the rivets when replacing the rear window frame.

The tensioning cables are loosened at the inner trim seals - 6 -.






- Remove rear window frame lower trim. Refer to => [ Rear Window Frame Lower Trim ] Rear Window Frame Lower Trim

- Open the seals - 6 -.

- Allow tensioning bands - 5 - with ends of tensioned headliner - 6 - to hang down.






- Disconnect rear window heating connector - 2 -.

- Remove screw - 5 - for sensor - 4 -.

- Loosen cable bracket - 3 - from rear window frame.






- Mark position of screws - 3 -.

- Note number of washers - 4 - and spacer plates - 5 -.

Further removal is done with a second technician.

- Remove screws - 3 - and remove rear window frame - 1 - from hinge - 2 -.
