Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque wrench (5-50 Nm) (VAG 1331)

• Exhaust system must be aligned when cold.

- Loosen the bolts of the front clamp - 1 -.





- Position the clamp - 1 - so that dimension - a - at the mark on the pipe - 2 - is 5 mm and tighten the front bolt hand tight. - Arrow - points in direction of vehicle travel.

- Push the exhaust system as far forward until the dimension - a - on the outer retaining loop of the front muffler is 9 to 11 mm. - Arrow - points in direction of vehicle travel.





- Tighten the front clamp evenly in this position.

• Tightening specification: 25 Nm

Tailpipe Aligning





- Align the rear muffler so that distance - a - between the bumper cutout and the tailpipes is equal.

At the same time, distance - b - of bumper the cutout must be parallel to the tailpipes.

- To align the tailpipes, loosen the rear muffler mounting components if necessary.
