Alarm Horn: Service and Repair

Alarm Horn

The Alarm Horn (H12) is located at the right on the A-pillar in the fender.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Drill (VAS 5134)

• Drill bit dia. 6 mm

• Pop rivet pliers (VAS 5072)

• To remove the Alarm Horn (H12), the anti-theft alarm system must be deactivated.

CAUTION!
• Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers.

• Remove ignition key.

Removing

- Remove the right front wheel housing liner.

- Using (VAS 5134) and a spiral bore dia. 6 mm, drill out both pop rivets - arrows -.





- Remove Alarm Horn - 1 - in - direction of arrow - from body cutout.





- Disconnect connector - 2 -.

Installing

• Remove all metal shavings through the drilled holes.

- Perform the necessary corrosion protection measures.

- Connect harness connector to Alarm Horn.

- Guide clip - 2 - for Alarm Horn - 3 - into body cutout - 1 -.





- Secure Alarm Horn using (VAS 5072).

Alarm Horn, Checking

The Alarm Horn can be checked using output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) of the Comfort System Central Control Module (J393).
