Hood: Adjustments
Adjusting Hood
To adjust hood - 1 -, vehicle must be on the ground and catches must be removed.
- Remove catches - 9 -.
- Remove gas-filled strut - 2 - at hood - 1 -, refer to=> [ Gas-Filled Strut ] Gas-Filled Strut.
- By loosening hex nuts - 5 - and bolt - 3 - at left and right on hood hinge - 4 - (do not unscrew completely), hood - 1 - can be aligned between fenders.
- In rear area, height of hood - 1 - can be adjusted to fenders with adjusting screw - 6 - on left and right sides.
- Stop buffers - 7 - (Qty. 2) do not swivel to adjust. Their function is to stabilize and to cushion the hood - 1 -.
- Hood - 1 - can be adjusted in height relative to fenders in the front area using the stops - 8 - (Qty. 2).
Make sure gap dimensions are uniform
- After assembly or adjustment work, apply corrosion protection measures onto hood hinge - 4 -, hex nuts - 5 - and bolts - 3 -.
- After hood - 1 - has been adjusted, catches can be reinstalled and adjusted. To adjust in their elongated holes, slide toward left or right
Adjusting Hood Lock
If after closing hood the gap dimensions are still uneven, adjustment can be corrected slightly by the hood lock and catches.
- Remove radiator grille. Refer to=> [ Radiator Grille ] Radiator Grille.
- If the bolts - 1 - are loosened, hood gap dimensions can be corrected or adjusted.
Tightening specification for bolts - 1 -: 12 Nm
- Adjust catches. To adjust, slide toward left or right.
