Torque Converter, Installing

- Press the torque converter hub through the seal as far as the first stop.

- Lightly press the torque converter toward the transmission and turn it until the slots on the torque converter hub - arrow - engage in the drive lugs on the Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) pump gear and the torque converter slides noticeably inwards.





The converter is installed correctly if it is easy to turn by hand and if it fits evenly in the transmission.

CAUTION!
If the engine and transmission are connected forcefully when the converter is installed incorrectly, damage to the transmission and converter results.
