1 ABS hydraulic unit (N55)

• Location: At left in engine compartment

The hydraulic unit consists of the following components:

• ABS hydraulic pump (V64)

• Valve block (contains inlet and outlet valves)

• Removing and installing => [ ABS Control Module and Hydraulic Unit ] Service and Repair.

• Can be checked in "Guided Fault Finding" using (VAS 5051)=> [ VAS 5051, Connecting and Selecting Functions ] VAS 5051, Connecting and Selecting Functions.

2 ABS control module (J104)

• Location: At hydraulic unit on left side of engine compartment

Removing and installing => [ ABS Control Module and Hydraulic Unit ] Service and Repair.

• Can be checked in "Guided Fault Finding" using (VAS 5051)=> [ VAS 5051, Connecting and Selecting Functions ] VAS 5051, Connecting and Selecting Functions.

3 Brake light switch (F)

• Adjusting => [ Brake Light Switch, Adjusting, from 03.00 ] Adjustments.

• Adjusting and locking, up to 11.06 => [ Installing, adjusting and locking ] Brake Light Switch, Through 11.06.

• Adjusting and locking, from 11.06 => [ Installing, adjusting and locking ] Brake Light Switch, From 12.06.

4 ESP sensor unit (G419)

• Removing and installing => [ ESP Sensor Unit, from 12.01 ] Service and Repair.

• Combined transverse acceleration sensor (G200) and rotation rate sensor (G202)

• Combined in one housing

• Can be checked in "Guided Fault Finding" using (VAS 5051)=> [ VAS 5051, Connecting and Selecting Functions ] VAS 5051, Connecting and Selecting Functions.

5 Brake system vacuum pump (V192)

• Only on vehicles with gasoline engine and automatic transmission

• Location: on subframe, left-hand side

• Removing and installing => [ Brake System Vacuum Pump ] Brake System Vacuum Pump.

• Checking => [ Brake System Vacuum Pump, Checking ] Brake System Vacuum Pump, Checking.

6 Steering angle sensor (G85)

• Only in vehicles with ABS/EDL/ASR/ESP

• Location: On steering column between steering wheel and steering column switch.

8 Brake pressure sensor 1 (G201)

• Only in vehicles with ABS/EDL/ASR/ESP

9 Right rear ABS wheel speed sensor (G44)/left rear ABS wheel speed sensor (G46)

• Removing and installing => [ ABS Component Overview ] ABS Component Overview.

• Can be checked in "Guided Fault Finding" using (VAS 5051)=> [ VAS 5051, Connecting and Selecting Functions ] VAS 5051, Connecting and Selecting Functions.

10 Right front ABS wheel speed sensor (G45)/left front ABS wheel speed sensor (G47)

11 Wheel hub with rotor for front speed sensor

• Rotor and left and right front speed sensor are identical

12 Wheel hub with rotor for rear speed sensor

• Rotor and left and right rear speed sensor are identical

13 ASR/ESP control lamp (K155)

• Location: In instrument cluster

14 ABS warning lamp (K47)

• Location: In instrument cluster
