1 Cap

• Pressure relief valve in cap, checking. Refer to => [ Pressure Relief Valve in Cap, Checking ] Component Tests and General Diagnostics.

2 Connector

3 Stud Bolt

• 5 Nm

4 Expansion Tank

• Cooling system, checking for leaks. Refer to => [ Cooling System, Checking for Leaks ] Component Tests and General Diagnostics.

5 Sealing Strip

• On the Passat only.

6 O-ring

• Replace if damaged

7 Lower Coolant Hose

• To the connection for the coolant thermostat.

8 Nut

• 5 Nm

9 Bolt

• 5 Nm

10 Coolant Fan 2 (V177)

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Fan Shroud and Fans ] Service and Repair.

11 Coolant Fan (V7)

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Fan Shroud and Fans ] Service and Repair.

• With the coolant Fan Control (FC) control module (J293).

12 Connector

13 Fan Shroud

14 Radiator

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Radiator ] Service and Repair.

• After replacing, replace the entire amount of coolant.

15 Upper Coolant Hose

• To the connection sleeve on the cylinder head.
