Fuel Pressure Sensor: Service and Repair






Fuel Pressure Sensor

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Assembly Tool (T10118)

Double Hexagon Socket, 1/2", 27 mm (VAS 5301/7)

CAUTION!
Follow the safety measures for releasing the high side fuel pressure. Refer to => [ High Side Fuel Pressure, Releasing ] Service and Repair.

For safety reasons, interrupt the current supply to the fuel pump, refer to => [ Safety Precautions ] Fuel Supply before opening the fuel system because the fuel pump is activated by the driver door contact switch.

Removing

- Remove the engine cover/upper air filter housing. Refer to => [ Engine Cover/Upper Air Filter Housing ] Engine Cover/Upper Air Filter Housing.

- Remove the coolant pipe and oil dipstick guide tube from the intake manifold - arrows -.





- Press the oil dipstick tube down and to the right - arrow -.





- Disconnect the connector from the fuel pressure sensor (G247) using (T10118).

CAUTION!
Fuel rail is pressurized! Wear protective goggles and protective clothing to prevent injuries and contact with skin. Before loosening the fuel pressure sensor, place a cloth around the connection point. Then release pressure by carefully loosening.

- Remove the fuel pressure sensor using (VAS 5301/7).

Installing

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal, noting the following:

Tightening specification, refer to - item 19 -=> [ ] Fuel Rail, Injectors and Pipes Overview, From 06.06.
