Evaporative Emission Components






Evaporative Emission Components

Hose connections are secured with either spring type or clamp type clips.

Hose clip pliers (VAS 6340) or hose clip pliers (VAS 6362) are recommended for installing space saving clamps.

Meaning of the colors or colored marks on the connector couplings for the fuel, vacuum and ventilation lines.

1 Vacuum Line

Green or with a green mark.

2 Vent Line

White or with a white mark.

From the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister to EVAP canister purge regulator valve.

3 EVAP Canister

Installed location: behind the right rear wheel housing liner.

4 Leak Detection Pump (LDP) (V144)

Checking the fuel/EVAP system for leaks, refer to => [ Fuel and Evaporative Emission System, Checking for Leaks ] Fuel and Evaporative Emission System, Checking For Leaks.

5 Turbocharger

6 Brake Booster

7 Non Return Valve

8 Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Regulator Valve (N80)

9 Double Check Valve

Checking, refer to => [ Double Check-Valve, Checking ] Testing and Inspection.

10 Throttle Valve Control Module (J338)

11 Intake Manifold

12 Separating Point

In the right of the engine compartment.

13 Separating Point

Right front of the fuel tank.

14 Fuel Filler Tube

15 Vent Line

From the fuel tank to the EVAP canister.

1 Bolts

2 Leak Detection Pump (LDP) (V144)

Installed location: behind the right rear wheel housing liner

Checking the fuel/Evaporative Emission (EVAP) system for leaks, refer to => [ Fuel and Evaporative Emission System, Checking for Leaks ] Fuel and Evaporative Emission System, Checking For Leaks.

3 Vacuum Line

To the intake manifold.

4 Clamp

5 Connecting Hose

EVAP canister to LDP.

6 Vacuum Hose

7 Connecting Hose

Air filter to LDP.

8 Air Filter Housing

9 Nut

10 Nm

10 EVAP Canister

Installed location: inside the right rear wheel housing.

Remove the bolts and pull the EVAP canister downward.

11 Vent Line

To the EVAP canister purge regulator valve (N80).

Clipped to the fuel tank.

12 Vent Line

From the fuel tank.
