Variable Induction Control Valve: Service and Repair



Intake Flap Motor With Intake Manifold Runner Position Sensor

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
- Assembly tool T10118
- Multi point socket T10347
- Commercially available 1/4" reversible ratchet bit
- T30 bit insert

Removing
- Remove engine cover/air filter.

- Remove pipe - A - and hose - B - - arrows -.


Continuation for All







- Loosen the hose clamp - 1 -.
- Remove bolt - 2 -.
- Remove noise insulation.
- Disconnect electrical connector - 3 -.
- Remove the bolt - 4 -, pull the guide pipe off the charge air cooler and remove it downward.







- Disconnect the vacuum lines - arrows -.
- Disconnect the following connectors:

NOTE: It is easier to open connectors that are hard to access when using the assembly tool T10118.

- Intake flap motor V157 connector
- Evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge regulator valve N80 connector
- Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor G71 connector
- Throttle valve control module J338 connector
- Low fuel pressure sensor G410 connector







- Disconnect the connectors - arrows -.
- Loosen the wiring bracket - A - and lay the entire wiring harness aside.







- Pry the coupling rod - arrow - off the intake flap motor V157.
- Remove the bolts - 1 - from above with the 1/4" reversible ratchet bit and T30 bit insert.
- Remove the bolt - 2 - from below with the socket T10347.
- Remove the intake flap motor V157 from the intake manifold.

Installing
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal, noting the following:







- Position the bolts - 1 and 2 - by hand to avoid damaging the threads.

If intake flap motor V157 or intake manifold was replaced, intake manifold runner position sensor G336 must be adapted to ECM "Guided Functions".
