Airbag Units, Replacing Following An Accident

Accident with airbag deployment

Note: The airbag control module does not need to be replaced after deployment unless "Control module faulty" DTC is set in the control module, or the control module is physically damaged

After a collision with airbag deployment, the following components must always be replaced:

- Any deployed airbag unit.
- Support for passenger module, where passenger airbag deployed
- Return ring with slip ring, if driver airbag deployed
- All seat belts with belt tensioners that have been triggered
- In addition, following must also be replaced if necessary (visual check): All damaged components

Accident not involving activation of airbag

Note: The airbag control module does not need to be replaced after deployment unless "Control module faulty" DTC is set in the control module, or the control module is physically damaged
If airbag malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) -K 75- does not indicate a malfunction, it is not necessary to replace any of the airbag components. Seat belts should be checked separately.
