Clutch Position Sensor
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Hose Clamps up to 25 mm Dia. (3094)
Removing
- First, check whether a coded radio is installed. If so, obtain the anti-theft code.
- Disconnect the battery Ground (GND) cable with the ignition turned off.
- Remove the entire air filter housing, if it is located in the vicinity of the battery.
- Remove the battery and battery tray.
If a hose/line assembly or plastic line - 1 - with a round component is installed directly below the master cylinder, the hose/line assembly or plastic line must be removed.
• While performing the following work, make sure that no brake fluid comes into contact with the longitudinal member or with the transmission. If this happens, these areas must be cleaned thoroughly.
- Clamp off the supply hose to the master cylinder using the (3094).
- Disengage the securing clip - 2 - using a screwdriver or a pointed tool and pull it out of the master cylinder until it stops.
- Disconnect the hose/line assembly or plastic line - 1 - from the master cylinder and seal it.
- Unclip the clutch position sensor (G476) from the master cylinder - arrow - and remove it.
- Disconnect the electrical connector - 4 -.
Installing
Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Pay attention to the following:
If the hose/line assembly or plastic line was removed:
- Install the hose/line assembly or plastic line - 1 - with a new seal - 2 - to the master cylinder connection - 4 - until the securing clip - 3 - engages audibly.
- Gently pull on the line to check the installation.
- Remove the (3094) and bring the supply hose back to its original shape.
- Bleed the clutch system. Refer to => [ Clutch System, Bleeding ] Procedures.
- Install the battery tray and battery.
- If removed, install the air filter housing.
- Connect the battery and observe the work procedures for after connecting the battery.
