Clutch System, Bleeding

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Brake Charger/Bleeder Unit (VAS 5234) or (V.A.G 1869)

Bleeder Hose (670 mm long) (V.A.G 1238/B3)

Pre-filing the system is not necessary!

- Remove the entire air filter housing, if the bleeder (see - arrow - in illustration below) is not accessible through it.

- Connect the (VAS 5234) or the (V.A.G 1869).

If necessary, use the (V.A.G 1238/B3) to bleed the system.

- Connect the bleeder hose to the collector bottle for the brake bleeder unit.

- Connect the bleeder hose - A - to the bleeder - arrow -.





- Pressurize the system to 2 bar.

- Open the bleeder valve approximately 1/4 turn.

- Press the clutch pedal rapidly by hand 15 to 20 times from stop to stop.

- Close the bleeder valve and turn the bleeder unit off.

- After completing the bleeding procedure, and the pressure has dropped from 2 bar, press the clutch pedal an additional 10 times by foot.

- If removed, install the entire air filter housing.
