Clutch Pedal and Hydraulics Overviews
• Obtain the anti-theft code for the radio before disconnecting the battery.
• Disconnect the battery Ground (GND) strap with the ignition turned off.
• Lubricate all bearing areas and contact surfaces.
• Allocate the grease.

Clutch Pedal Overview
1 Bulkhead
• With the studs for the mounting bracket.
2 Gasket
• Always replace
• Between the mounting bracket and bulkhead.
• Self-adhesive
• Adhere to the mounting bracket.
3 Mounting Bracket
• For the clutch pedal.
• removing and installing

4 Bolt
5 Over Center Spring
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Over Center Spring, Mounting Bracket Removed ] Clutch Pedal and Hydraulics.

8 Clutch Pedal
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Clutch Pedal ] Clutch Pedal and Hydraulics.
9 Mount
• To remove and install, disconnect the master cylinder from the clutch pedal. Refer to => [ Master Cylinder ] Clutch Pedal and Hydraulics.
10 Gasket
• Always replace
• Between the master cylinder and mounting bracket.
11 Master Cylinder
• Remove and install after removing the mounting bracket. Refer to => [ Master Cylinder ] Clutch Pedal and Hydraulics.
12 Clutch Position Sensor (G476)
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Clutch Position Sensor ] Clutch Pedal and Hydraulics.
• Can be tested in "Guided Fault Finding" using the vehicle diagnostic tester.
• In "Guided Fault Finding", the clutch position sensor is designated as the clutch pedal switch (F36).
13 Clip
• To remove and install the hose/line assembly or plastic line, pull the clip out to the stop.
14 Supply Hose
• Made out of plastic
15 Self Locking Nut
• 25 Nm
• Always replace
• Quantity: 3
• For the mounting bracket to the bulkhead.
16 Nut
• 25 Nm
• Always replace.
17 Jounce Bumper
• For the clutch pedal.
Hydraulics Overview
1 Brake Fluid Reservoir
2 Spring Type Clamp
• Not equipped on all vehicles.
3 Supply Hose
• Made out of plastic
4 Master Cylinder
• Remove after removing the mounting bracket, refer to => [ Master Cylinder ] Clutch Pedal and Hydraulics.
5 Clip
• To remove and install the hose/line assembly or plastic line, pull the clip out to the stop.
• It is also pulled out to the side on some master cylinders.
6 Seal/O-ring
• Installed onto the line connection.
• Install with brake fluid
7 Mount
• To remove and install, separate the master cylinder from the clutch pedal. Refer to => [ Clutch Pedal ] Clutch Pedal and Hydraulics.
8 Clutch Pedal
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Clutch Pedal ] Clutch Pedal and Hydraulics.
9 Nut
• Refer to - item 15 -.
10 Hose/Line Assembly
• Remove the battery and battery tray, in order to remove.
11 Bracket
• Secured to the body.
• Covered by the assembly mounting.
• For the hose/line assembly - item 10 -.
12 Plastic Line
• Remove the battery and battery tray, in order to remove.
13 Bracket
• Secured to the body.
• Covered by the assembly mounting.
• For the plastic line - item 12 -.
14 Seal/O-ring
• Installed onto the line connection.
• Install with brake fluid.
15 Bleeder
16 Clip
• To remove and install the hose/line assembly or plastic line and bleeder, pull the clip out to the stop.
17 Vent Valve
• Bleed the clutch system, refer to => [ Clutch System, Bleeding ] Procedures.
18 Dust Cap
19 Clutch Master Cylinder
• Can only be replaced when the transmission is removed.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Master Cylinder ] Clutch Pedal and Hydraulics.
20 Transmission
Seal/O-ring for the Hose/Line Assembly or Plastic Line
• The seal/O-ring must be installed in the groove - arrow 1 - and - arrow 3 -.
Plastic Return Hose - 1 -
• Seals - 2 - must be located in the supply hose.
