Transmission Oil, Checking

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
^ Torque Wrench V.A.G. 1331
^ Triple square socket driver 3357

- Remove noise insulation.





- Remove sealing plug for gear oil inspection - arrow -.

The oil level is correct when the transmission is filled up to the lower edge of the filler hole.
- Screw in bolt - arrow - with new seal.
- Tighten bolt - arrow - to torque specification.

When filling again, note the following:
- Remove bolt - arrow -.
- Top off oil to lower edge of filler hole.
- Screw in bolt - arrow - with new seal.
- Tighten bolt - arrow - to torque specification.
- Install noise insulation.





Different versions of oil filler- and oil drain plugs
I - Oil filler or drain plug with multi-point socket head, 45 Nm
II - Oil filler or drain plug with hex socket head, 30 Nm
