Input Shaft Overview

• Lubricate all bearings with transmission fluid when inserting on the input shaft.





1 Securing Ring

• For the grooved ball bearing/input shaft - item 6 -.

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Transmission, Without Cap/Input Shaft Circlip ] Transmission, Without Cap/Input Shaft Circlip.

2 Washer

• Outer circumference = 78.6 mm

• Only insert with the changed transmission housing (from transmission production date 10 April 2006 through approximately 20 January 2008). Refer to => [ Grooved Ball Bearing Changes ] Input Shaft.

3 Transmission Housing

• Adapted in the grooved ball bearing seat area - item 6 - and washers - items 2 and 4 - from transmission build date 10 April 2006 through approximately 20 January 2008. Refer to => [ Grooved Ball Bearing Changes ] Input Shaft.

• Flattened areas on grooved ball bearing and bearing seat approximately from transmission build date 21 January 2008. Refer to => [ Grooved Ball Bearing Changes ] Input Shaft.

4 Washer

• Outer circumference = 85 mm

• Only insert with the changed transmission housing (from transmission production date 10 April 2006 through approximately 20 January 2008). Refer to => [ Grooved Ball Bearing Changes ] Input Shaft.

5 Securing Ring

• When replacing the grooved ball bearing - item 6 - and input shaft - item 8 -, determine again. Refer to => [ Determining the Grooved

6 Grooved Ball Bearing

• Always replace

• Pulling off, refer to => [ Removing the Grooved
Ball Bearing ] Input Shaft.

• Installed location, refer to => [ Grooved Ball Bearing
Installed Position ] Input Shaft.

• Pressing on, refer to => [ Pressing on Grooved
Ball Bearing ] Input Shaft.

7 5th Gear Wheel

• Offered together with the input shaft as a replacement part.

• Pressing off, refer to => [ Removing the 5th Gear
Wheel ] Input Shaft.

• Installed position: the surrounding groove - arrow - points toward the grooved ball bearing - item 6 -.

• Pressing on, refer to => [ Installing 5th Gear
Wheel ] Input Shaft.

8 Input Shaft

• With 3rd/4th and 6th gear wheels.

9 Roller Bearing

• With circlip.

• Pulling out, refer to => [ Pulling Cylindrical
Roller Bearing off Clutch Housing ] Input Shaft.

• Installing, refer to => [ Pressing Cylindrical
Roller Bearing into Clutch Housing ] Input Shaft.

• Installed position: the circlip in the bearing points to the input shaft.
