Installation notes for all windows
- Apply adhesive material all around circumference at a right angle to window.
CAUTION:
- Window must be installed within 10 minutes, otherwise bonding properties of window adhesive will be impaired.
- Do not apply adhesive bead too thickly and do not press windows too firmly on to body flange. Since windows no longer have a sealing lip, surplus sealant is to be seen in gap area.
- Insert window into window cut out using two double suction lifters (V.A.G 1344), center and press in up to spacer.
- Replace stickers (e.g. for airbag).
Installation notes for windshield
- Check whether height stops - 1 - are present.
- Windshield does not have markings for the adhesive bead - 2 -. Placing of adhesive bead is between dimensions - 3 and 4 - : On top window edge, from height stop - 1 - toward inside. On side window edge, from inside edge of applied primer - 3 - toward outside. Lower window edge, from binding profile - 4 - toward inside.
- Gap and height dimensions of windshield.
- Secure windshield using window adjuster (443 845 631 A) - 5 - during curing time.
- The plenum chamber cover must always be installed as described on page.
Installation notes for rear window
- Check whether height stops - 3 - are present.
- Gap and height dimensions of rear window.
- Activator must not be applied onto distributing wire for window heater.
- Markings - 1 - are made along circumference of rear window for applying the sealant - 2 -.
- Secure rear window using adhesive tape during curing time.
- If the adhesive bead has been applied too thick and the adhesive expands onto the area of the window heating, then the excess adhesive must be removed.
