One-Piece Washer Fluid Reservoir
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1783)
• The following illustration shows the Sedan version of the washer fluid reservoir with the Windshield Washer Pump (V5) installed. The Windshield And Rear Window Washer Pump (V59) and two hose connections are installed here on the Wagon model.
• In order to prevent interchanging washer fluid line connections at Windshield and Rear Window Washer Pump, connections at pump and hose lines are color-coded. Hose connector pieces must be connected to the corresponding colored pump connections during installation.
Removing:
- Switch ignition and all electrical consumers off and disengage the key or ignition switch in position 0 (ignition off).
- Remove front bumper cover.
- Remove right front wheel housing liner.
- Remove the right headlamp. Refer to => [ Headlamps ] Headlamps.
- Bring the lock carrier into service position. Radiator Support
- Remove bolts of fuel filter bracket and set it aside with lines connected.
- Unclip all lines from windshield washer system tank.
- Remove screw - 1 -.
- Remove screw - 2 -.
• To access the mounting bolt - 2 -, it may be necessary depending on equipment to loosen the line bracket of the pipes routed above it.
- Remove the mounting bolt - 5 - from wheel housing.
- Disconnect hose connection from Windshield Washer Pump - 3 - and use a suitable container to collect the draining washer fluid.
- Disengage and disconnect harness connector on Windshield Washer Pump - 3 -.
- Remove windshield washer system tank - 4 - upward out of vehicle.
Installing:
Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:
• When installing the windshield washer system tank, make sure that the surrounding lines are not pinched and are clipped back into the tank in their original positions.
- Tighten all threaded connections to the specification shown in => [ Fastener Tightening Specifications, Windshield Wiper and Washer System ] Fastener Tightening Specifications, Windshield Wiper and Washer System.
