Oil Pump: Locations
Oil Pan and Pump Assembly Overview
CAUTION: Large quantities of metal particles or abraded material detected during engine repairs may indicate a damaged crankshaft or rod bearings. To prevent further damage, perform the following steps after the repair:
^ Carefully clean oil passages
^ Replace oil injection jets
^ Replace oil cooler
^ Replace oil filter

4. Lower Oil Pan Section
5. Bolt
^ 9 Nm
6. Oil Baffle
^ Replace

8. Oil Pump
9. Centering Sleeve
10. Chain Tensioner
11. Bolt
^ 9 Nm
12. Oil Pump Drive Chain
^ Mark direction of rotation before removing
13. Upper Oil Pan Section
14. Bolt
^ 9 Nm
15. Bolt
^ Replace
16. Flat Sealing Ring
17. Suction Line
^ Clean strainer if contaminated
18. O-Ring
^ Replace
19. O-Ring
^ Replace
20. Non-Return Valve
21. Oil Drain Plug
^ 30 Nm
22. Nut
^ 9 Nm
Lower Oil Pan Tightening Sequence
- Tighten bolts - 1 through 20 - in 2 stages as follows:
- Tighten bolts to 8 Nm.
- Tighten bolts an additional 90 degree.
Upper Oil Pan Tightening Sequence
- Tighten bolts - 1 through 14 - in 2 stages as follows:
- 1. Tighten bolts to 15 Nm.
- 2. Tighten bolts an additional 90 degree.
Oil Separator Tightening Sequence
- Tighten bolts to 9 Nm in the sequence - 1 to 9 -.
