High Pressure Pump, Removing and Installing

CAUTION!
Fuel system is under high pressure! Before opening the system, perform the procedure for releasing fuel pressure. Procedure, see => [ Releasing Pressure in High Pressure Area ] Releasing Pressure In High Pressure Area

The removal and installation of the high-pressure fuel pump can only be performed on a cold engine.

When installing the high-pressure fuel pump, make sure that no dirt enters the fuel system.

Catch escaping fuel with a rag.

The O-ring must always be replaced.

High-pressure fuel lines must always be fastened free of tension.

Removing

- Remove engine cover => [ Engine Cover, Removing and Installing ] Engine Cover, Removing and Installing.

- Disconnect the electrical connector - 2 - from the Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve (N276).





- Open both fuel lines - arrows -.





- Remove the 2 bolts - arrows -.





- Carefully pull the high pressure fuel pump out. The roller tappet may stay in the cylinder head.

Installing

Tightening specifications => [ High Pressure Pump with Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve, Assembly Overview ] High Pressure Pump With Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve, Assembly Overview

- Replace the O-ring for the high-pressure pump.

- Carefully place high pressure pump with sleeve (pay attention to the groove) in opening in cylinder head (check sleeve for damage first).

- Tighten bolts by hand.

- Before installing the fuel lines, check the torque of the connections on the high-pressure pump.

- Tighten the bolts crosswise with the required torque.

- Hand tighten the fuel supply line union nut so that it is free of tension and then tighten it.

- Connect the electrical connector - 2 - from the Fuel Pressure Regulator Valve (N276).





- If the fuse was pulled, insert it again.

Check fuel system for leaks.
