Final Drive/Haldex Clutch, Avoiding Damage During Maintenance Checks
Do not mistake Rear Differential oil drain plug for Haldex oil drain plug.
Technical Background
Haldex clutch and Rear Differential are a single integrated assembly with separate lubricating (oil) systems. It is possible for the oil drain plugs and oil check plugs of the two systems to be mixed up. This may lead to avoidable maintenance mistakes, which can cause failure of the Haldex clutch and/or Rear Differential.

NOTE:
^ Always install the correct plug(s) when checking, draining or filling the rear differential and/or Haldex clutch.
^ Always refer to vehicle specific Maintenance Manual and/or Repair Manual for oil check and oil change requirements.
Maintenance of Rear Differential:
^ Only check the oil level
^Inspect for leaks
Maintenance of Haldex Clutch:
^ Oil must be changed
