Tester, Connecting

Volkswagen offers various testers, for example:

• Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051)

• Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051B)

• Tester (VAS 5051/11A)

• Vehicle Diagnosis and Service System (VAS 5052)

• Diagnosis System (VAS 5053)

The operation of this tester is described in the respective operating instructions.

The following description is based on the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051)

CAUTION!
• Test equipment must always be secured on the rear seat during a road test.

• These devices may only be operated by a passenger during a test drive.

- Plug diagnostic cable (VAS 5051/1) connector - 2 - or (VAS 5051/3) into vehicle Data Link Connector (DLC).





- Switch Tester - arrow - on.





Tester is ready for operation when you can select between fields/buttons Guided Function and Guided Fault Finding at right of display.

Depending on equipment and tester version, additional functions may be displayed, for example:

• Elsa

• Test Instruments

• On Board Diagnostic (OBD)

Tester is not ready for operation.

- Switch on ignition.

- Touch a field/button on the display to start desired function.
