A/C Compressor Auxiliary Component Bracket

A/C Compressor Auxiliary Component Bracket (3.6L)

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
- Torque wrench V.A.G 1331/(or 5-50 Nm equivalent)

NOTE:
- The description of auxiliary component bracket for A/C compressor in the Passat CC, from MY 2009.
- The auxiliary component bracket for A/C compressor and ancillary parts can be removed and installed without opening the refrigerant circuit.
- To remove ribbed belt.
- Position of ribbed V-belt.







1 - Ribbed belt
2 - Ribbed belt pulley - refrigerant pump
3 - Tensioning roller
4 - Auxiliary component bracket for generator and A/C compressor
- No. on auxiliary component bracket 038 903 143 AF

Removing
- Loosen A/C compressor, unscrew hex-bolts - 9 -. Remove A/C compressor from auxiliary component bracket and secure to body with appropriate material (e.g. welding wire)
- Remove bolts from auxiliary component bracket.

When installing, note tightening sequence.

- 25 Nm
6 - Generator
7 - Dowel sleeves
- Quantity: 2
- Ensure proper seating between auxiliary component bracket and A/C compressor
8 - A/C Compressor
9 - Hex bolts M8x100
- Quantity: 3
- 25 Nm
10 - Fitting bolt
- 25 Nm







Securing A/C compressor to body
If A/C compressor is removed and refrigerant circuit not opened, A/C compressor must be secure to body using appropriate material, a welding wire for example.

Ensure refrigerant hoses remain on A/C compressor without tension for this.

NOTE:
- When installing the belt ensure it is correctly seated in the ribbed belt pulley.
- Last, install ribbed belt over ribbed belt pulley of A/C compressor.







Auxiliary component bracket tightening sequence

NOTE: Bolts - 1 - and - 2 - are fitting bolts.

- First tighten bolts in 1 to 5 sequence by hand.
- Then tighten bolts in 1 to 5 sequence to 25 Nm.
