Fuel Level Sensor 2



Fuel Level Sensor 2

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
- Wrench T10202
- Torque wrench (40 to 200 Nm) V.A.G 1332

Removing

Requirement
- Fuel tank may be a maximum of 1 / 2 full.

Work Procedure

NOTE:
- Read safety precautions before beginning work.
- Observe the rules for cleanliness.
- Fuel tank, assembly overview.
- Ensure fuel level sensor 2 G169 floater arm is not bent.

- Empty the fuel tank if necessary using the fuel extracting device VAS 5190.
- Remove rear seat bench.







- Disconnect connector to all wheel drive control module J492 - arrow -.
- Unclip grommet - 1 - downward out of cover and guide all wheel drive control module J492 wiring harness downward and out.







- Remove the cover - 1 - and disconnect the 3-terminal connector - arrow - from the flange.







- Open locking ring using wrench T10202.







- Pull fuel level sensor 2 G169 upward slightly and unclip suction jet pump locking tabs - arrows -.

Installing

CAUTION: Do not bend the fuel level sensor 2 G169 floater arm when installing.

- Insert fuel level sensor 2 G169 in fuel tank.







- Connect suction jet pump to sensor at inside of fuel tank. Suction jet pump locking tabs - arrows - must engage.

Further installation is performed in reverse order. When doing this note the following:
- Only coat sealing ring with fuel when installing flange







- Note flange location - B - :

Marking on flange must align with marking on fuel tank - arrow -.

NOTE: Marking on fuel tank is difficult to see.

B - Fuel level sensor 2 G169 flange

- Tighten locking ring with wrench T10202. Tightening Specifications 110 Nm.







- Note location of cover - B - :
- - Arrow - on cover must point in direction of travel.
