Intake Manifold Flap Vacuum Actuator, Checking
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
- Hand vacuum pump VAS 6213 or hand vacuum pump V.A.G 1390
Conditions
- Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) valve N316 was checked using vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051 A under "Guided Fault Finding".
Test Sequence
If Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) valve N316 is OK
- Disconnect vacuum hose at vacuum actuator.
When using the hand vacuum pump VAS 6213 :
- Set the slide ring - 1 - on hand vacuum pump VAS 6213 to position - A - for "vacuum".
- Connect hand vacuum pump to vacuum actuator - arrow -.
- Operate hand vacuum pump several times. Operating plunger must move in - direction of arrow -.
NOTE: Use a mirror for testing.
- Disconnect hand vacuum pump from vacuum actuator. Operating plunger must spring back into its initial position.
- If operating plunger does not move as described, replace actuator.
