Removal and Replacement



All Wheel Drive Control Module

Removing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
^ Torque wrench 2 to 10 Nm V.A.G. 1783
^ Drip tray for VAS 6100 VAS 6208

- Switch ignition off.





- Separate connectors - 1 - and - 2 - on control module.
- Place drip tray under final drive.





- Remove bolts - arrows -.

Ensure no parts fall below when removing control module.
- Carefully remove control module - A -.





- Carefully grasp Haldex clutch control valve N373 - A - with pliers on metal housing - arrow - and remove.
- Remove pressure sensor - B -.





- Remove sealing ring - arrow - from housing.

Installing
Install in reverse sequence; note the following points:





Note: The valve sealing rings have different internal diameters.

^ - 1 - internal dia. 11 mm
^ - 2 - internal dia. 12 mm
^ - 3 - sealing ring on valve body





- First coat the sealing ring - 1 - with Haldex oil and mount it on the Haldex clutch control valve N373.
- Then sealing rings - 2 - and - 3 -.
- Press the sealing ring centering lips (quantity 4) - 3 - into the groove.





- Place the new cover - 2 - on the control module - 1 -.

Note: The cover fits in one position only.





- Insert the Haldex clutch control valve N373 - 3 - into the control module - 1 -.

Note: Valve only fits in one position.





- Insert the oil pressure/temperature sensor G437 - 4 - into the control module - 1 -.

Note: The sensor fits in one position only.





- Carefully position control module - A - and tighten bolts - arrows - to the tightening specification.
- Check oil level in Haldex clutch.
