Stabilizer Bar and Coupling Rod Assembly Overview

1 Stabilizer

• Note different suspension versions, refer to => [ Vehicle Data Label ] Description and Operation.

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Stabilizer Bar ] R32 Components, All Wheel Drive, Aluminum Subframe

2 Rubber Mount

• Replace mounts always on both sides of vehicle

3 Clamp

4 Bolt

• Always replace after removal

• 25 Nm plus an additional 90° turn

• Tighten uniformly

• Always tighten threaded connections in curb weight position, refer to => [ Aluminum and Steel Rear Axle in Curb Weight Position ] Rear Suspension

5 Wheel Bearing Housing

6 Nut

• Always replace after removal

• 45 Nm

• Self-locking

• When tightening, counter hold at inner multi-point fitting on bolt - 7 - or coupling rod - 8 -

7 Bolt

8 Coupling Rod

• Connects stabilizer to trailing link/wheel bearing housing

9 Subframe
