Removal and Replacement



All Wheel Drive Control Module

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
^ Torque wrench 5-50 Nm VAG 1331
^ Drip tray for VAS 6100 VAS 6208

Removing





Note: When removing control module -1-, cover -2- and plate spring -5- are removed together. Pressure sensor -4- and valve -3- are removed separately.

- Switch ignition off.





- Separate connectors -1- and -2- on control module.
- Place drip tray under final drive.





- Remove screws -arrows-.

Ensure no parts fall below when removing control module.

- Carefully remove control module -A-.





- Carefully grasp Haldex clutch control valve N373 -A- with pliers on metal housing -arrow- and remove.
- Remove pressure sensor -B-.





- Remove Haldex clutch control valve N373 seal -arrow- from housing.

Installing
Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:





- Coat the new Haldex clutch control valve N373 seal -arrow- with high performance Haldex clutch oil and insert it in the housing.





- Replace O-rings -1- and -2-.
- Note different diameter:

^ Inner diameter O-ring -1- = 11 mm
^ Inner diameter O-ring -2- = 12 mm





- Replace O-ring -arrow A- at pressure sensor.

Note: The marking -arrow B- on the convex side of the plate spring -2- faces up and toward the pressure sensor -1- in installation location.

- Place plate spring -2- with convex side on pressure sensor -1-.





- Place the new cover -5- on the control module -6-.
- Insert pressure sensor -4- with plate spring in new cover -5- and press onto connector. Convex side of plate spring faces toward pressure sensor.
- Lightly coat new pressure sensor -4- O-ring with high performance Haldex clutch oil.
- Insert valve -1- in new cover -5- and control module -6- and press onto connector.
- Lightly coat new O-rings -2- and -3- with high performance Haldex clutch oil.





- Carefully position the control module -A- and tighten the screws -arrows- to the specified tightening specification.
- Check the oil level in the Haldex clutch.
