Oil Pressure Switch
- Bring the lock carrier into the service position. Radiator Support
- Remove the sealing plug - item 1 - in => [ Oil Filter Housing Assembly Overview ] Service and Repair, from the oil filter housing. Collect any leaking engine oil.
- Seal the oil pressure switch test hole on the (VAG 1342 ) with the sealing plug.
- Install the (VAG 1342) with the (VAG 1342/14 ) into the oil filter bracket in place of the sealing plug.
• Note the installed position of the adapter: The conical connecting neck of the adapter is installed to the pressure hose of the tester.
- Connect the brown wire of the (VAG 1342) to ground (-).
- Connect the (VAG 1527B) to the battery positive and the oil pressure switch (connection in the engine compartment - arrow -) using adapter cables from the (VAG 1594C).
• Light Emitting Diode (LED) must not light up.
If the LED lights up:
- Replace the oil pressure switch - item 2 - in => [ Oil Filter Housing Assembly Overview ] Service and Repair.
If the LED does not light up:
• While starting the engine, watch the (VAG 1342) and LED as he switch point of the oil pressure switch may already be exceeded during start.
- Start the engine and run at idle speed.
• The LED must light up at 0.7 to 1.1 bar pressure, otherwise replace the oil pressure switch - item 2 - in => [ Oil Filter Housing Assembly Overview ] Service and Repair.
