Right Flange Shaft

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Used oil collection and extraction device (VAG 1782 )

• Puller (T10037)

• Socket and extended bit (T10107)

Removing

- Remove the right drive axle.

- Remove the right drive axle heat shield bolts - arrows - and shield from the bevel box.





- Place the (VAG 1782) under the transmission.





- Remove the bolt for the right flange shaft using the ( T10107). Install 2 bolts into the flange shaft while counter holding the flange shaft with the lever.

- Remove the flange shaft using the (T10037).





Installing

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Pay attention to the following:

• Replace the flange shaft countersunk bolt.

- Remove the seal - A - from the shaft - arrow - and replace it.





- Carefully install the flange shaft. Turn it while doing this.

- Install the flange shaft with a new bolt. For the tightening specification, refer to => [ Flange Shaft and Bevel Box Seals Assembly Overview ] Flange Shaft and Bevel Box Seals Assembly Overview.

- Install the right drive axle.

- Check the oil level in the bevel box and fill if necessary. Refer to => [ Bevel Box Oil Level, Checking ] Procedures.
