Vehicle Testers VAS 5051B and VAS 5052, Connecting and Selecting Functions
• Before servicing the Haldex clutch, determine the cause of damage as closely as possible with the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051B) or the vehicle diagnosis and service system (VAS 5052) in the "Guided Fault Finding ", "Vehicle OBD" and "Measuring Technology" operating modes.
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system ( VAS 5051B) or subsequent unit
• Diagnostic lead (VAS 5051/6A)
or
diagnostic lead (VAS 5051/5A)
or
Vehicle diagnosis and service system (VAS 5052)
Diagnostic lead, 2 m (VAS 5052/3 A)
or
Diagnostic lead, 5 m (VAS 5052/3 A-1)
CAUTION!
• Test equipment must always be secured on the rear seat during a road test.
• These devices may only be operated by a passenger during a test drive.
- With the ignition switched off, connect the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051B) - 1 - to the diagnostic connector with the diagnostic lead (VAS 5051/6A ) or diagnostic lead (VAS 5051/5A) - 2 - or the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5052) - 1 - with the diagnostic lead, 2 m (VAS 5052/3 A) or diagnostic lead, 5 m (VAS 5052/3 A-1) - 2 -.
Location: Front left footwell
- Switch the tester - arrow - on.
The tester is ready for operation when a picture (photo) of a vehicle is displayed.
Entering "Guided Fault Finding"
- Switch on ignition.
- Touch the Guided Fault Finding button/field on the screen.
- Select one after the other:
• Brand
• Model
• Model year
• Version
• Engine code
- Confirm data entered.
Wait until tester has interrogated all control units in vehicle.
- Press the Go to button and select the "Function/component selection" function.
Now follow information given on screen to start the desired functions.
