Radio Navigation System
• Replacement part number for radio navigation system is located on a sticker on the radio navigation system housing.
• If radio navigation system is replaced, always activate antitheft coding. Refer to => Owner's Manual. Give the new code number to the customer.
• If a radio navigation system from one vehicle is to be installed in another vehicle, then always make sure that radio navigation systems of both vehicles have the same replacement part number. Otherwise navigation system will malfunction since the setting of the rotation angle sensor in radio navigation system does not match the vehicle.
Removing
Before starting repair work, perform the following:
- Switch off ignition, switch off all electrical consumers and remove ignition key.
- If necessary, remove CDs remaining in the unit. Refer to => operating instructions.
- Insert Release Brackets (V/160) at left and right of radio navigation system - arrows - until they engage.
- Remove radio navigation system from installation slot - arrows -.
- Release connectors on back side of unit and remove them.
- Press locking mechanism on both sides of radio navigation system - arrow - and remove release bracket.
Installing
- Connect harness connectors to radio navigation system.
- Slide radio navigation system straight into instrument panel.
• While sliding in the radio navigation system, under no circumstances press on the display or control buttons since the radio navigation system may be damaged by doing this.
• Do not use adapter cable belonging to radio navigation system for navigation antenna wire connection because it cannot guarantee a correct antenna wire connection.
- If a new unit was installed, activate electronic antitheft system function. Refer to => [ Electronic Antitheft System Code ] Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.
- Deactivate unit lock with electronic antitheft system function. Refer to => [ Electronic Antitheft System, Deactivating ] Electronic Antitheft System, Deactivating.
- Perform navigation system adaptation after reinstalling. Refer to => [ Navigation System, Adapting after Reinstalling ] Navigation System, Adapting after Reinstalling.
