Condition
Front Suspension Creaking Noise
Front suspension creaking noise during suspension cycles (going over speed bumps or entering on an inclined surface).
Technical Background
Bonded rubber bushing at front inboard attachment of lower control arm may be noisy.
Production Solution
Revised bonded rubber bushing material for lower control arm assembly.
Service
To clearly identify if a noise complaint is related to this issue:
^ Disconnect control arm from suspected steering knuckle.
^ Move control arm up and down.
If a creaking noise is heard during motion:
^ Replace the bonded front bushing (NOT the control arm), see Repair Manual Group 40 Front Suspension, Subframe, Stabilizer Bar, Control Arm, Bonded Rubber Bushing in ElsaWeb.
