EGR Valve, Checking

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Hand Vacuum Pump (V.A.G 1390)

Test Sequence:

- Remove the connecting hose for the charge air pipe/intake connection.

• With connector couplings, follow the installation instructions closely. Refer to => [ Hose Connections with Connector Couplings ] Service and Repair.

- Disconnect the vacuum hose at the EGR vacuum regulator solenoid valve.

- Connect the hand vacuum pump (V.A.G 1390) to the valve.

- Operate the hand vacuum pump and observe the diaphragm rod. The diaphragm rod must move in the - direction of the arrow -.






- Disconnect the hose from the hand vacuum pump from the EGR valve. The diaphragm rod must move back in the opposite - direction of the arrow - into the output position.
