Engine Control Module, without Anti-Theft Immobilizer

If it is desired to replace the Engine Control Module (ECM), connect the vehicle diagnostic tester and perform the guided function "Replace Engine Control Module (ECM)".

Procedure

- Turn off the ignition.

- Remove the windshield wiper arms.

- Remove the plenum chamber cover.

- Disengage the connector from the ECM and then disconnect it.

- Remove the old ECM and insert the new one.

- Code the ECM and adapt to the electronic immobilizer and throttle valve control unit. If necessary, then enable the cruise control system. Refer to "Guided Function" in the vehicle diagnostic tester.

- Read the fault memory of the new ECM and, if necessary, erase the fault memory. Refer to "Guided Function" in the vehicle diagnostic tester.

- Perform a test drive.

- Check the control module Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory again.
