Safety Precautions

To reduce the risk of personal injury and/or damage to the fuel injection and ignition system, always observe the following:

The ignition must be turned off before connecting or disconnecting injection and ignition system wiring or tester cables.

Do not touch or remove ignition wires when engine is running or turning at starter speed.

If special testing equipment is required during road test, note the following:

Test and measuring instruments must be secured to rear seat and operated by a second person from this location.

If the vehicle is involved in a collision while testing and measuring equipment is operated from the front passenger seat, the person sitting in that seat could be seriously injured when the airbag deploys.

If the engine is to be cranked at starting RPM without starting:

- Remove the ignition coil wiring harness cover strip.

- Disconnect the connectors from ignition coils 1 through 6 using the assembly tool (T10118).

- Place the assembly tool (T10118) on the locking button - arrow - and carefully pull the connector up.

- Remove the fuel pump fuse from the fuse holder.
