12-way Seat Control Module







12-way Seat Control Module

Removal and installation is described for the driver side of the vehicle. Removal and installation for the front passenger side is performed in the same manner.

Removing

- Position seat as far forward as possible using fore/aft adjustment.

- Remove covers from both spindles - 1 -. Refer to => [ Seat Rail Covers ] Seat Rail Covers.

- Remove caps - 2 - and - 3 - from both seat rails. Refer to => [ Seat Rail Covers ] Seat Rail Covers.

- Remove bolts - 4 - (45 Nm) from both seat rails.

The bolts are microencapsulated and must therefore be replaced after every removal.

Before installing the new bolts, the threads of the corresponding nuts must be cleaned.





- Position seat as far back as possible using fore/aft adjustment.

- Switch off ignition.

- Remove covers from both spindles - 1 -. Refer to => [ Seat Rail Covers ] Seat Rail Covers.

- Remove covers - 2 - from the outer seat rail. Refer to => [ Seat Rail Covers ] Seat Rail Covers.

- Remove bolts - 3 - (45 Nm) from both seat rails.

The bolts are microencapsulated and must therefore be replaced after every removal.

Before installing the new bolts, the threads of the corresponding nuts must be cleaned.





- Lift front of seat until the memory seat/steering column adjustment control module (J136) becomes accessible.

- Pull the side tabs - 1 - and - 2 - outward and remove the control module - 3 - from the mountings.

- Separate all connectors from the control module.





Installation

- To install, perform the steps used for removal in reverse order.
