Forcefully pull the lower control arm down in the - direction of the arrow - and press it up again

Radial Clearance, Checking





Forcefully push the lower part of the wheel inward and outward in the - direction of the arrow

There should not be any noticeable or visible "play" in either of the two checks

Observe the lower ball joint while performing the checks

Make allowances for any wheel bearing play or "play" in the strut mounting at the top

Check the ball joint boot for damage, replace the lower ball joint, if necessary
