Front Bumper from January 2011

Slight changes may have to be made to removal and installation procedures of front bumper cover, depending upon equipment installed in vehicle.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque wrench 2 to 10 Nm (V.A.G 1783)

Torque wrench 40 to 200 Nm (V.A.G 1332)

Removing

Slight changes may have to be made to removal and installation procedures of front bumper cover, depending upon equipment installed in vehicle.






- Remove the radiator grille. Refer to => [ Radiator Grille from January 2011 ] Radiator Grille from January 2011.

- Remove the left and right wheel housing liner bolts - 3 -.

- Remove the left and right bolts - 2 - inside the wheel housing (facing up).

- Remove the bolts - 4 - from underneath.

A second technician is required for the rest of the removal procedure.

- Remove the bumper cover - 1 - from the retainers for the left and right guide profiles - arrows - on the fender.

- With the help of a second technician, remove the bumper cover - 1 - from the retainers parallel to the vehicle.

- Disconnect the connector from electric components (as equipped).

- Disconnect the hose coupling from the windshield washer fluid hose (if equipped).

Installation

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

When installing the front bumper cover, make sure it is guided onto the fender so that it is parallel.

- Pay close attention to the parallel alignment and gap dimensions.

Tightening specification for the bolts, refer to => [ Front Bumper Assembly Overview from January 2011 ] Front Bumper Assembly Overview from January 2011
