Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Torque wrench (V.A.G 1332)
• Door adjusting wrench (3320)
• Adjustment gauge (3371)
• The vehicle must be standing on its wheels in order to adjust the front door.
• The rear door is properly adjusted when there is an overall even gap dimension when closed. It is not too far inward or outward and contours align.
• To adjust or check gap dimensions, refer to => Body gap dimensions; Body Rear
• Perform corrosion protection measures on the hinge and bolts after assembly or adjusting work.
For correct gap dimension adjustment, screws - 3, 4, and 5 - at the B-pillar must be loosened. It is necessary to remove the B-pillar lower trim in order to access the bolt - 5 -.. And it is possible that the socket wrench (3410) will be used.
Other measures, such as aligning the door upward, are not effective. Excess pressure thereafter will again cause the door to sag.
The bolts- 2 and 6 - must be loosened in order to correctly adjust the flush dimension.
For this, the door adjusting wrench (3320) with the bit insert (3320/3) is used.
- Tightening specification for bolts - 3, 4 and 5 - are found under. Refer to => [ Door Hinges Assembly Overview ] Door Hinges Assembly Overview
