B-Pillar Trim







B-Pillar Trim

Removing

It is not possible to remove the B-pillar trim without damaging it.






- Remove the bolts - 3 -.

- Before removing the trim - 1 -, heat the area near the adhesive surface with the hot air blower (V.A.G 1416).

- Remove the trim - 1 - from the B-pillar.

- Remove any remaining adhesive with adhesive remover (VAS 6349).

Installation

The expanding nuts are gas-tight and seal the passenger compartment with respect to outside air.

Prior to installing the trim, check expanding nuts - 5 - for damage and correct seating. Replace the expanding nuts if necessary

The illustration shows the left side. The right side is identical.






- Clean the adhesive surface with adhesive remover thoroughly before bonding the trim.

The adhesive surface must be free of dust, grease and adhesive residue.

Bracket - 6 - is installed and aligned. Refer to => [ B-Pillar Trim Mount ] B-Pillar Trim Mount

- Slide the trim - 1 - from below onto the mount - 6 -.

- Gently screw in the bolts - 3 -.

- Check the gap dimensions.

- Tighten the bolts - 3 -: tightening specification 2 Nm.

- If the gap dimensions with respect to the door windows are correct, remove the protective film via pull strip - 4 - from adhesive tape - 2 -.

- Press the trim - 1 - firmly into the area near the adhesive tape - 2 -.
